Rev. Jake Hooker
Pastor and Teaching Elder
Rev. Jake Hooker was approved by the Blue Ridge Presbytery to plant Providence in August 2021. He previously served for 4 years as Church Planting Apprentice and Assistant Pastor of Good Shepherd PCA in Florence, South Carolina.
Jake and his wife, Lauren, are both from the Roanoke Valley and met in grade school. The Hookers have been married since 2012 and have three children, Eli, Claire, and Genevieve.
Pastor Jake is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute (B.A. 2012) and Reformed Theological Seminary Charlotte (MDiv. 2017).
Rev. Andrew Newman
Assistant Pastor and Teaching Elder
Rev. Andrew Newman serves as our Assistant Pastor. Originally from Greensboro, NC, Andrew attended NC State University, where he came to faith in Christ during his college years. He later studied at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte and has served in full-time ministry since 2016—first as a campus pastor with Reformed University Fellowship for five years, and then as an assistant pastor at Fellowship Presbyterian church in Greer, SC.
Andrew and his wife, Meghan, have been married now for 15 years and are the parents of five children (Knox, Maryn, Maeve, Tilly and Mazie). In his free time, he enjoys sports, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.
