Inquirer's Class

In this two-part class (Friday evening from 6:00-8:30pm and Saturday morning from 9:00-11:30am), Pastor Jake will share Providence’s origins, beliefs and values, and goals. This class is required for those who want to become members of Providence, but those who take part do not have to become members. Dinner and breakfast will be provided. A sign up sheet is available in the lobby.

Fall Family Gathering at the Peaks of Otter

Fall Family Gathering at the Peaks of Otter on Saturday, October 12th at 9:45am. Everyone is invited to join us for a trail hike up to Johnson Farm and a picnic at the Peaks of Otter! We’ll be meeting at the Peaks of Otter Visitor Center (85919 Blue Ridge Parkway, Bedford) at 9:45am and we’ll begin the hike at 10:00am. The trail is 1 mile to Johnson Farm, where we’ll explore for 30 minutes and then head back for a picnic lunch together. Please pack your own lunch (no nuts, please!). Afterward families can head home, go to the lodge for a leisurely walk around the lake, or hike Sharp Top. We hope you’ll make plans to join us!

Fall Simple Supper

Join a group of Providence friends for a simple supper and table fellowship! Sign up to participate and you will be assigned to a host home with a handful of other families. We’ll plan to have 3-4 families at each home and your host will coordinate the details of the time and menu.

Christmas Caroling in Cherokee Hills

Join us for Christmas Caroling in the Cherokee Hills neighborhood on Saturday, December 7th! We will be meeting at Joe and Becky McConnell’s house (5243 Cherokee Hills Dr. Salem) at 5:00pm, carol from 5:15-6:00pm, and return to the McConnell’s for chili and a fire pit in their backyard. We’re looking forward to a great time of fellowship together!

Night at the Ballpark

Make plans to join us for a night at the ballpark! We’ll be meeting outside the gate at Salem Memorial Ballpark at 6:15pm and the game begins at 6:35pm. Tickets are $8/person. Please RSVP using the sign-up sheet on the Welcome Table in the lobby and be sure to invite a friend.

PCA General Assembly

General Assembly is the annual business meeting of the Presbyterian Church in America. The denomination’s pastors (Teaching Elders) and church leaders (Ruling Elders) gather to study, discuss, debate, and decide biblical and ministry issues. Each year General Assembly is hosted in a different location, and this year it is taking place in Chattanooga, TN. Visitors are welcome to observe the proceedings.
