The Church Planting Process

There are several steps in the process of becoming a fully established and self-governing church in our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

Approval

On August 14, 2021 the Blue Ridge Presbytery approved the church plant and the call for Rev. Jake Hooker to be the church planter.

Support Raising

Much of September and October 2021 was spent raising support. By God’s grace, our goals for our Year One, Year Two, and Year Three budgets were quickly reached.

Gathering

After moving back to the Roanoke Valley, Pastor Jake began meeting with those interested in the church plant. Informational meetings were hosted in February and March of 2022 to share about the vision for the church.

Worship

Our first public worship service took place on Easter Sunday, April 17th 2022 and since then we have been meeting for worship every Sunday morning! We would love to have you join us this Lord’s Day at 10:00am. More details >>

Particularization

The final step of the Church Planting Process is particularization: becoming a “particular” church with ordained elders and deacons. We hope to begin the particularization process in the Spring of 2024.
